As a 25-year-old brand, IGN is ancient in terms of internet age. So our Instagram is all about reaching a new audience and establishing ourselves as THE go-to brand for all things games and entertainment, with turning Instagram into our most engaging platform our primary goal.

Strategy and Execution

Our Instagram is all about variety, with design being our primary focus. Our news design template has created a legion of copycats over the past year, but our simple headline and watermark graphic has proven to be the gold standard for getting news across to our fans in a quick, efficient manner. We also consistently set ourselves against our competitors by holding our design standards even higher, utilizing carousels and Reels for great storytelling, and consistently posting engaging Stories with custom formats that take advantage of Instagram’s engagement tools. Celeb interviews, game, movie, and TV reviews, breaking news, user polls, quizzes, timelines and more - we pack it all into the most dynamic Instagram account in games and entertainment. 



IGN has the biggest gaming news account in the world and it keeps accelerating year after year. In 2022 we passed 4M followers to 4.2M, and we amassed 233M engagements, making our Instagram our biggest social account in terms of fans interacting with our brand. That total is also a 77% increase in engagements from 2020. Our Reels views also hit a new high, amassing nearly 400M total views last year, an increase of 745% since 2020.
