About Rising Voices: Rising Voices Season 2: Indeed and Hillman Grad Productions are reprising their creative call to filmmakers to share stories around the meaning of work and how connecting all people to opportunity leads to better lives. This creative call kicks off with 10 filmmakers being selected and given a production budget of $100,000 each, for a total of $1 million, to create a short film (under 15 minutes). Their films will debut at a Festival in 2022. In addition, the selected filmmakers will be mentored by a variety of filmmakers including Lena Waithe, will be awarded a $10,000 writing fee, and will have access to a production line crew.The Panel: To celebrate the Rising Voices Season 2 finalists and Black History Month we are bringing together strong Black female voices to talk about the power of opportunity, the importance of representation, and investing in diverse storytellers that are reshaping Hollywood.
Indeed wanted to create a initiative to help provide employment and exposure opportunities for BIPOC filmmakers & storytellers around the theme of the meaning of work, and the idea that jobs change us all. DKCulture was tapped to work with Indeed to develop the “Rising Voices” program into a impact program that was media worthy.To bring awareness and celebrate the Rising Voices Season Two finalists we put together a bespoke panel highlighting Black Women in Hollywood to talk about the power of opportunity, and the importance of representation and investing in diverse storytellers that are reshaping Hollywood.HangarFour worked with Indeed to help bring in Emmy Award-winning writer, creator and actor Lena Waithe, actress, comedian and author, Yvonne Orji, Grammy award winning actress and singer, Danielle Brooks, actress, Skai Jackson and Senior Vice President of Environmental, Social & Governance at Indeed, LaFawn Davis, moderated by journalist and author, Danyel Smith.
Rising Voices' virtual Building the New Future of Hollywood Panel generated upwards of 2.4 million total impressions, over 175,000 video views, and more than 30,000 likes across Instagram and YouTube. By utilizing partnerships with high performing influencers Skai Jackson, Danielle Brooks, Yvonne Orji, and Lena Waithe, this panel reached eager audiences of young, aspiring artists. This panel and the partnerships it fostered significantly stationed Indeed at the forefront of conversations around diversifying creative spaces in the workplace.
