Objectives

• The Tryout is an MLB Original show airing on YouTube where celebrities get a chance to tryout for an MLB team. They get paired with an MLB Star who will offer up advice and put them through a ringer of physical challenges to test their baseball skills. For the pilot, we paired rap superstar, Residente with Javy Báez of the Chicago Cubs. 

Strategy and Execution

• To help grow our MLB Originals audience on YouTube, we felt it was very important to feature celebrities and this show allows us to pair our stars with relative celebrities. One of the areas we’re aiming to connect with younger audiences is through music - so Javy was super excited to interact with an idol of his in Residente. This authentic pairing made the content so much stronger since they were both big fans of each other.
