In 2020, FOX ENTERTAINMENT partnered with LEGO to create the greatest competition series ever built. We took a beloved IP and wanted to personalize the experience – what other way to do that than creating a LEGO master piece of your face? So we created a LEGO Mosaic Augmented Reality Facemask on Instagram and Facebook.
The LEGO mosaic was built off of a LEGO canvas and created your face into tiny nodes of LEGOS. We stayed true to the building dynamics of LEGOS by maintaining a single color to a node. Surprisingly and successfully, we were still able to recreate the likeness of your face with this limitation! We also included a color and black & white version to vary up options for our fans.
The LEGO mosaic was a quick and easy to access via the Facebook and Instagram app and we learned that people loved sharing their LEGO-fied face. This idea sparked the remainder of the LEGO marketing campaign, where we created custom art of Will Arnett (the host) as a digital mosaic as well as taking over other FOX IP to LEGO-fy and bring more awareness to the show.
