Objectives

As the popularity of Instagram Stories grows, Nickelodeon is continually looking for new and innovative ways to use the platform. With our audience of kids and young adults, engagement and fun drivers are key. Turning Instagram stories into a “game” with really clever content doesn’t hurt to contribute to the company’s watch time goals at the same time! 

Strategy and Execution

Instagram story stickers add a unique layer of gamification that most platforms don’t have. Nickelodeon social leverages that feature to gamify evergreen and promotional content to keep kids’ eyes on the story and have fun while they do it! Brand stories with gamified elements have high retention rates, which makes them key for meeting company goals. ‘Can You Find the Real Sticker’ stories aim to make the user go back and forth between slides as much as possible to try to find the answer. And our audience can’t stop until they find it!

Results

Two of our best performing stories of all time are from this series, with a total of nearly 5M impressions and 600k engagements.
