Al Jazeera Digital Newsroom is managing all social media production & publishing for Al Jazeera Arabic social media outlets, we worked hard this year to keep our audience informed, and updated with world events, our engagement metrics were focusing on interactions and using all tactics to engage with our loyal fans.
We worked very hard throughout 2020 providing timely coverage of the news through live updates and breaking down complex stories on the issues that affect the Arab audience everywhere. Never, as in this momentous year, were we so effective in meeting our objective of and powerfully giving voice for the voiceless.
Our content strategy on Facebook was focused on producing unique original content optimized for Facebook and tailored to covering the stories that matter most to Arab audiences. From the start of the year, and throughout the pandemic, we tirelessly focused on creating engaging content and timely coverage of the news in an approachable, mobile-friendly format to our growing audience base of more than 25.3M followers on al Jazeera Arabic main Facebook page.
Our secret ingredient was serving local markets with personalized content to match each market’s needs, publishing content for 22 Facebook local pages covering MENA & Arabic speakers around the world (Local pages reached 20M followers) this year!

Our 2020 strategy has paid off. Our views soared to more than 4.97 Billion Views and interactions (likes, comments and shares) to 309.39 Million.
