Our goal was to create a Comedy Central Originals Mini-Mocks video featuring a fictional character with a hilariously offbeat profession. We hoped the video would meet pre-determined KPIs, acquire views and broaden the Comedy Central fan base beyond those who currently follow the brand on social platforms. Brooklyn Ball Barbers succeeded on all of these points beyond our expectations.
Brooklyn Ball Barbers was comprised of elements that connected with viewers on a number of levels, both parodying and speaking to their fascination with Brooklyn, hipsterism, style, and male genitalia. A tightly-scripted and casted production, this highly shareable video resonated with a global audience, and after deciding on an ideal launch day and time for social media, we focused on best practices for key social platforms to maximize shareability, via branding, thumbnails and copy.
Brooklyn Ball Barbers was an instantaneous smash, gaining 257 million organic views on Facebook. It remains Comedy Central's most viewed social video of all time.
