HP came to us with a request — outside of our UX-UI dedicated resource — to create an easy to use value calculator that would be both educational and drive sales of HP Device as a Service. This calculator needed to not only spell out the benefits of DaaS (cost-savings, increased employee productivity, reduced IT workload while optimizing IT spend, and strengthened endpoint security) but also demonstrate the true potential of savings for all size businesses.
What good is a calculator if you don’t know what the numbers mean? We were responsible for creating a contextual narrative of the benefits around the value calculator in the form of a hp.com landing page. Following their visual design system and branding initiative for DaaS, we created a mobile-first modular page, beginning with a custom-graphics hero banner that introduces DaaS as a valuable asset to any company.
The HP DaaS calculator was designed to be easy to use — with drop downs to slider bars — and responsive to user inputs. The main attraction is the interactive color-coded chart that breaks down the monetary values of the service in real time and an easy-to-digest visual way.
To keep HP DaaS top of mind, we also include a selection of “Learn more” features that help prompt HP DaaS representatives in their lead-gen. What else about lead-gen, you ask? We developed functionality for generating a dynamic PDF complete with users’ customized calculator results, which is made available through an email-capture form.
After our 5-month effort, HP enjoyed a fully responsive experience that encourages users to interact with the tool and learn more.
