The Florida Lottery is the government organization that offers fun and excitement for all who play, with new games, bigger prizes, and more winners. It also has contributed more than $1 Billion to education for each of the past 16 years, with its sole mission to enhance public education in the State of Florida.
To increase engagement and sales of a new Scratch-Off game, we wanted to introduce Florida Lottery players to the excitement, before they even buy it! The Florida Lottery partnered with Hasbro and Facebook to bring their players an exciting spin on a classic, a LIVE MONOPOLY JACKPOT game, with real cash and prizes!
In order to boost awareness of the new game, and, as a result, sales, we had to create a high-impact experience that would keep the audience engaged through extended amounts of time. To do so, we made our own trivia game show that anyone could join via Facebook LIVE. Our players would tune into our Facebook Livestream to answer Florida Lottery-themed trivia questions for a chance to spin the MONOPOLY JACKPOT wheel and win amazing prizes! We introduced new prizes and evolved the show based on our players' feedback every week.
The livestreams reached more than 700,000 people, who watched a cumulative 616,440 minutes of the show. People were so eager to try their chances at spinning the wheel that our videos averaged over 24 comments per second for their entire duration each week!
Every episode of the show averaged over 60,000 comments, beating the latest live campaigns by Old Spice, Wendy's, and some of the biggest influencers' most viewed live videos!
The MONOPOLY JACKPOT became The Florida Lottery's most successful social media campaign, helping to sell nearly $320 million worth of MONOPOLY JACKPOT Scratch-Off tickets!
