About this entry

We wanted to educate and inform our LGBTQIA+ community and everyone living with HIV about the ways in which the United States Courts are being weaponized against them, but most of all, to inform how they spoke to their peers, neighbors, and Senators about this. Judge Brett Kavanaugh's nomination to SCOTUS was the convergence of these issues, and more.

Why does this entry deserve to win?

We were first out of the gate with our prediction on Judge Brett Kavanaugh's nomination, and were the first to be able to provide a clear account of his record with regards to how it has impacted marginalized communities. This was built for sharing and engagement, all along, especially with our useful judicial nominee tracker. And without a doubt, if you were following along on social, you were watching with us. The end goal was to drive enough engagement on this issue to drive folks to call their Senators, but moreover, to engage folks around the state of the courts. While we did not succeed at stopping Kavanaugh, we did energize an entirely new demographic around the state of our courts, and what we must do to protect them.

Results

Our live coverage on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram of the Senate Confirmation Hearings generated millions of organic impressions, shares and views for us, of content no one else made or enveloped with top-notch distribution and messaging.
