A marvelous example of where art can take on activism, Dear White People is a hit show based on the movie of the same name on Netflix that follows the experiences of several Black college students at Ivy League schools and focuses on race relations in America. This critically-acclaimed show touches on the isolation that many students of color feel at predominantly white institutions, and the toll that can take on young adults in similar situations. Season two of Dear White People, which premiered in May and boasts a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, addresses issues like alt-right trolls, race relations with police and the general stresses of being a person of color on a campus populated predominantly by white people.
