While mixed reality became a huge topic of conversation in 2017, not many people knew it was available at the Microsoft Store. We wanted to help fans escape into a virtual world with exhilarating adventures instead of showing a straightforward product shot. We achieved this by creating a cinemagraph-style GIF with the objective of driving awareness and engagement for the new Windows Mixed Reality product release.
This GIF hacked the traditional product render-style post, uniquely combining the physical product and a cinemagraph-style motion to bring the immersive VR experience to life on social. The subtle movement proved to be eye-catching to passive browsers and helped fans escape into a world of imagination offered through the Windows Mixed Reality headsets.
