In 2017, we set out to highlight editorial content from Bloomberg live events across social platforms. Our goal: use social media to build awareness of Bloomberg Live events and drive conversations around programming and news from the events.
Bloomberg's live events division last year produced 42 events around the world, including the first ever Global Business Forum, a gathering of CEOs and heads of state from around the world.
We partnered with Twitter to live stream the Global Business Forum to 3.99 million viewers online. For other events, like The Year Ahead, Sooner Than You Think and Invest franchises, we scoured schedules for panels of interest to our audience and for opportunities to create bespoke social content.
We streamed dozens of panels to Twitter and Facebook and YouTube, created quote cards and short videos for Instagram, and live tweeted some of the most interesting conversations in the world.
We live streamed interviews with Anita Hill, Ginny Rometty, David Petraeus, Roger Goodell and major events, generating millions of views across Twitter, Facebook and YouTube. We amplified the conversation around each event and helped @BloombergLive build an audience of nearly 10,000 on Twitter.
