YouTuber Elle Mills started 2017 with just over 15K subscribers. Then things went crazy. The 19-year-old gained traction for hilarious edits that cast shows and films in a totally different light, like “IF STRANGER THINGS WERE A ROMANTIC COMEDY.” But in 2017, Elle mostly posted her weekly vlogs, often featuring her family members or her friend (and fellow YouTuber) Joey Kidney, who introduced Elle to the larger YouTube community. Once that happened, Elle’s account caught fire and her subscriber count started rising. She went fully viral in November, making headlines for her creative and touching “COMING OUT (ELLE MILLS STYLE)” video. Elle’s personal, yet playful, style is so charming that she ended the year with over 915K subscribers. As she says, “it’s pretty f**king amazing.”
