While many publications are quick to cover fashion and beauty based off the current trends, Clairity is a video series introducing viewers to new fashion and beauty products from brands our host, Claire Peltier, believes is making a positive difference in the industry. These products not only help viewers look and feel good, but have a positive impact on the world, the environment, and hopefully the user's self-image, too. Features have included Lauren Singer of Trash Is For Tossers, the Bombas and Two Blind Brothers founders, and fashion brands like Slow Factory and Voz. The people behind featured brands and businesses have helped provide millions of socks to the homeless, empower thousands of women in Ghana, raise awareness for the ACLU and World Wildlife Fund, and provide funding to help cure blindness, among other efforts. By covering brands like this, Clairity re-establishes a sense of gratitude and love for an industry that's often criticized for its negative impact on the world and the consumer.
Clairity FIRST looks for brands that have a positive mission at their core. The trendiness, or coolness, of it comes second. With that in mind, we develop a storyline, interviewing the people behind the brands and finding out what makes them so passionate about their work.
To execute, Claire handles the research, pulling sample products from various brands (when necessary) and testing them to find her favorites. Afterward, she works with A Plus' video team to finalize the logistics and plan shoots accordingly. Our shoots have been filmed in various locations in New York City as well as Long Island with the intent to find brands across the country to highlight in upcoming videos.
Since launching in January 2017, the video series has garnered hundreds of thousands of views, with some episodes reaching an audience through Ashton Kutcher's Facebook page. We plan to film more episodes throughout 2018 the the intent to expand our audience and showcase the fashion and beauty industries in a positive light.
