Since a major portion of our customers make payments while in school or are repaying their student loans after school, it's a natural step to offer an app that lets them manage and make student loan payments from their Apple® or AndroidTM phones. With the Sallie Mae mobile app, customers can pay their student loans within seconds for anytime, anywhere access. Plus, iPhone® users can use Touch ID for easy—and even faster—account access.
In addition to the native mobile app for phones, we also created one of the first apps that lets a customer make a payment directly from their Apple Watch. Most watch apps let a customer merely view their payment information; ours takes the next step and gives the customer the freedom to make their payment wherever they are
Building the foundation: We chose to develop a native app, so we could take advantage of all the capabilities of the respective phone platforms. We joined forces with Stable|Kernel, with its long history in the mobile app development world. With their foundation, our internal UX team led the partnership to develop connectivity with our internal servicing systems.
