Vision Boarding for the Future

Entered in Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

Objectives

To celebrate Women’s History Month, we invited female employees from across JPMorganChase to participate in a vision board-building exercise. This engaging activity fostered a space where women could visualize their personal and professional dreams together and create a shared vision for the future.

The goal of our campaign was to celebrate Women’s History Month by highlighting the diverse visions, and voices of women at JPMorganChase. We aimed to show the importance of everyone’s dreams and how they contribute to the broader narrative of the firm’s future.

Strategy and Execution

To bring this vision to life, we selected eight female colleagues to build a collective vision board. We designed the set to be collaborative, interactive, and natural, capturing video footage of the participants as they discussed and built the vision board together.

Prior to the shoot, we asked each participant to share 10 to 15 images that symbolized significant plans for their future. These images varied from vacation photos to cherished moments with their partners, children and inspirational figures. This preparation not only personalized the experience but also fostered a deeper connection among participants as they openly shared their inspiration during filming.

At the shoot, we facilitated a collaborative setting where groups of two to four women at a time came together to build the vision board. The environment was designed to be open and supportive, encouraging participants to engage in meaningful conversations. As they placed their selected images and phrases onto the board, we captured the entire process on video, including natural interactions that highlighted the supportive dynamics among participants.

It was important for us to create an authentic space where women felt comfortable expressing their visions, unconfined by societal norms. This approach not only facilitated a genuine exchange of ideas but also reinforced the supportive culture of our firm as participants openly shared their emotions with tears and support.

Post-event interviews were conducted to delve deeper into the personal significance of the items added to the board, which brought an additional narrative to this project. The blend of collaborative participation created a comprehensive narrative that showcased the collective and individual visions of the future as envisioned by the women at our firm.

Results

The campaign was more than just a celebration of Women’s History Month; it was a powerful demonstration of the talented women within our firm. It provided a space for these women to share their visions publicly, contributing not only to the visibility of their personal and professional goals but also to the ongoing conversation about gender diversity, equality, and inclusion in the workplace.

Internal partners within the DE&I space shared this content across newsletters, intranet pages and digital signage for others to consume. This high level of engagement showed just how much this content resonated with both internal and external audiences.

The campaign not only celebrated the achievements and dreams of our women but also established a dynamic space for ongoing support and collaboration, proving that when women come together to share their visions, they can create powerful pathways for change and progress.
