Jules & Hayley LeBlanc: 'Ghost SeaWorld!'

Objective

The goal of this campaign was to have Jules & Hayley Leblanc’s massive young follower base learn along with them about how marine animals are exploited at SeaWorld. After learning this information, we hope they will join the LeBlanc sisters in “ghosting” the park!

Strategy

This summer, PETA partnered with sisters and influencers Jules & Hayley LeBlanc for a powerful new campaign. The campaign, centered on spreading awareness about SeaWorld, made a HUGE WAVE for sea animals by educating Gen Z on the harsh realities of marine life captivity. As part of this campaign, PETA and the sisters released a photo component as well as a compelling video where the LeBlanc sisters, guided by PETA’s Director of Outreach, delve into the truth behind SeaWorld's practices. We also created an Instagram filter and a text message prompt for folks to take action for dolphins and orcas who suffer at SeaWorld. To celebrate the campaign launch, PETA hosted an unveiling event at PLANTA on the water, along with many of the sisters’ influencer friends!

The posts from this campaign reached over 4 MILLION people!

The campaign has been shared by influencers with social media followings of over 18.6 MILLION and has been liked, shared, or commented on by many influencers, including Addison Rae (34.8m), Emily Dobson (1.5m), Jake Warden (1.3m) and more!
