To communicate the founding story, mission, work and impact of APIA Scholars and to drive engagement and interest in getting involved.
This documentary summarizes the essence of APIA Scholars as told by its founding and early members. Visionaries and leaders who saw and recognized a critical need to support an often invisible community. Our organization started when Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders were not even included on national conversations about education. Our alumni and scholars also talk about the challenges they had to overcome for being seen as a group that doesn't need help and the impact that APIA Scholars have had. We end with a call to action on the unmet need that still exists and for the viewer to get involved.
The film was shown to donors, supporters, Board, alumni, scholars, and partners at our 20th Anniversary event. We are publishing this on our YouTube channel in its entirety, posting clips to our social media channels, adding this to our donor and press kit. We hope that our message extends beyond our immediate audience and get broader awareness and reach.
