Entered in Data Visualization

Objectives

Happify launched The Science Behind a Happy Relationship infographic two weeks prior to Valentine's Day 2014 – just in time to help couples reflect on their romantic relationship and start a conversation about what we all can learn from people in happy relationships. The graphic compiled survey findings, statistics and actionable advice into a visually compelling and easily shareable format. Covering scientific research on everything from how many times a week the happiest couples have sex to how happy couples fight to how to celebrate a partner's good news, the graphic distilled the findings into an easily digestible chart.

The infographic was first shared through Happify's social media platforms and blog. The graphic was ever-present in the two weeks leading up to February 14th. It was shared across websites, such as Huffington Post, Refinery29, MSN and Lifehacker, who garnered more than 1.7 million views for the graphic. It was also discussed on TV and radio stations across the country and shared countless times on Twitter, Facebook and Pinterest.

As a result of the infographic's widespread success, Happify was also featured on ABC World News Tonight. Reporter Mara Schiavocampo spotted the infographic being shared on her personal Facebook feed and reached out to the company to share their story.
