To wit: our hilarious and wildly effective work with HBO for the second season of the Lisa Kudrow series, The Comeback. Through this pre-launch campaign effort, we wanted to reward and excite the original fans while also spurring interest in new viewers to tune in. With those goals in mind, #ValerieSelfie concept—a cardboard cutout with a personalized audio message from Valerie Cherish—was born.
The plan paid off in spades when Anderson Cooper devoted an entire segment, his popular "RidicuList," to his #ValerieSelfie, applauding it for getting him "hook, line and sinker" and praising its ability to cut through the mounds of clutter he and his producers receive. Along with Cooper, HBO sent the Valerie cutouts to a wide range of celebrities and influencers—including Lena Dunham, Zosia Mamet, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Jane Lynch, Dan Bucatinsky (of NBC's Marry Me and a writer/producer on The Comeback), Kathy Najimy, Dan Savage and Paul Scheer among many others—who posted pictures of themselves with Valerie Cherish in social media, not just hyping the show but enhancing its brand tenfold.
For the third season of the HBO comedy Veep, we established a dedicated campaign phone line where fans could call in and hear a custom recorded message from one of the show's stars, Selina Meyer's Director of Communications, Mike McLintock (played by Matt Walsh). After Mike's hopelessly incompetent/true-to-form message, users were prompted to text "VEEP" to a unique call code, where they received hilarious personalized texts and a downloadable custom share card so they could show their support for the eventual (albeit fictional) POTUS on social media. Three weeks later, fans received a call from Selina Meyer herself!

Throw in our amazing work for Cartoon Network, Cinemax, Syfy—and the successful launch of The Chew's Carla Hall's Kickstarter campaign, which raised over $260,000 so Hall can open a Southern Kitchen restaurant in Manhattan—and it's clear that GLOW's time has come. We have put our stake in the ground as one of the top, if not the best, mid-sized agencies around today, poised for even greater success.
