Swipe. Like. Contact. Adopt. BarkBuddy uses these four simple steps to get you an adoptable pup as fast and close as possible. Available in the Apple App Store, this app is designed to locate adoptable pups near you, saving you a trip to the animal shelter.

With over 2 million adoptable dogs in the US alone, BarkBuddy focuses on getting as many pups adopted and rescued all over the US and Canada. Having a similar interface with the app, Tinder, you swipe through thousands of adoptable pup profiles in your area. Once you adjust the size, age, gender, and maximum search distance, you have access to all the pup profiles according to your preferences. Every left swipe indicates a "no" and a swipe to the right means a "yes". When you say "yes" or "like" a certain pup, you are presented with the contact information of the local shelter they occupy or you can have them automatically saved for later in your favorites.

You can easily attain all the information about the pups when you tap on their picture including their breed, age, personalities, and any additional info they might have. Obtaining this information is a key component to the app and many users take advantage of this feature. The shelters and rescues share this information with BarkBuddy because it plays the role of virtually meeting the pup for the first time!

When the app first launched, there were over 300,000 adoptable dogs and the app already went through 8 million swipes in the first week!
