UNITED BY OUR UNIQUENESS is an internal and external brand campaign, for Cox Enterprises, that focuses on celebrating our diverse talent communities. Throughout the year, we showcase honest conversations and the authentic experiences of our employees, so we live our promise of letting every voice be heard as we continue to champion a culture of safety, listening and belonging. 

This particular UBOU campaign activation celebrates and connects communities of women with our Employee Resource Groups so that our employees are telling their authentic experiences of working and thriving at Cox. In celebrating women, we know what’s important to them, in their heart and in their workplace.

What a Woman Wants

This campaign activation celebrates and connects communities of women within the Cox Enterprises' Employee Resource Groups so that our employees are telling their authentic experiences of working and thriving at Cox. In celebrating women, we know what’s important to them, in their heart and in their workplace.

Women want to work for organizations that help them find their calling, allow for flexibility in where, when, and how they work and provide meaningful leadership opportunities. They also want to feel valued and a sense of belonging.

• The need to belong in the workplace comes second to only the need to belong at home. Belonging at work means the experience of being wholly accepted and included by those around you.
  • A sense of belonging at work is linked to higher productivity, engagement, and commitment to the job. When belonging is absent, underperformance, burnout and alienation were more likely to occur in workplaces.
    • Only 18% of women feel comfortable sharing a differing opinion, knowing it will be valued, compared to 24% of men
    • Men are 41% more likely to feel a strong sense of belonging compared to women.
  • Women want to be valued for the unique perspectives they bring to work and empowered to contribute as leaders.
    • Women are 20% less likely to say their unique background and identity are valued at their company.
    • Women are also 25% less likely to feel comfortable sharing a different opinion with the expectation that it will be valued.
    • 25% of junior contributors say they have never been recognized for their contributions at work.
