Project C.U.R.E. – Commission on Urgent Relief and Equipment – is the world’s largest distributor of donated medical supplies, equipment and services to doctors and nurses serving the sick and dying in more than 135 countries.
Project C.U.R.E.’s goal was to quickly deliver health and hope to the people of Ukraine during their time of need.
Project C.U.R.E. has an extensive history of working with our friends in Ukraine. Since 2000, the organization has sent fifty-three (53) 40-foot C.U.R.E. Cargo shipments to Ukrainian facilities throughout the country. In fact, many C.U.R.E. Cargo shipments were also in the planning and implementation stages before the invasion. In 2021, Project C.U.R.E. was recognized by the National Health Council of Ukraine for participation in the international humanitarian project “Support Hospitals in Ukraine.”
Leveraging strong relationships in country, Project C.U.R.E. was able to quickly overcome numerous supply chain and logistical challenges to ensure donated medical supplies and equipment reached those who needed it most.
Working closely with key partners in the region, pallets of much-needed humanitarian medical cargo were delivered to the distribution hub “Help Ukraine Center” in Poland, where they were transferred to Ukrainian Ministry of Health to address the critical needs of Ukrainian hospitals. Project C.U.R.E. quickly pivoted from its traditional medical supplies and equipment to emergency medical cargo most needed in a warzone: individual first aid kits (IFAKs), combat application tourniquets (C-A-Ts), different surgical instrument kits, bandages and dressings, needles and syringes, surgical gowns, and other surgical instruments and durables.
Project C.U.R.E. confirmed with partners on the ground that shipments were received and immediately put to use.
Results as of August 1, 2022:
The Project C.U.R.E. team is very proud that the collective efforts of staff, volunteers, donors and partners saved lives in Ukraine.
