The Face Google+ Hangout

Entered in Live Television

Objectives

Leveraging the partnership with Google+ to take advantage of such an interactive social platform, the The Face Google+ Hangout is an hour-long live web chat featuring The Face’s A-List talent, including Executive Producer Naomi Campbell; supermodel mentors Coco Rocha and Karolina Kurkova; host Nigel Barker and the fans. Imagine a world where super-famous supermodels, curious bloggers, judicious journalists, and you hang out at the same place – and at the same time – to talk fashion, beauty, and The Face. The Face Google+ Hangout brought that world to life. Leveraging the partnership with Google+ to take advantage of such an interactive social platform, the Hangout is an hour-long live web chat featuring The Face’s A-List talent, including Executive Producer Naomi Campbell; supermodel mentors Coco Rocha and Karolina Kurkova; host Nigel Barker and the fans. Before The Face even premiered on television, The Face Google+ Hangout facilitator SuChin Pak asked the A-list talent what to expect from the show. In candid interviews from wherever Naomi, Coco, Karolina, and Nigel were in the world – viewers got the chance to anticipate the show in a more intimate way than an on-air sizzle reel or sneak peek could allow. SuChin Pak is most well-known for her work as an MTV News correspondent and on-air correspondent for DailyCandy. Co-produced by Oxygen and Google+, segments of the chat were broadcast live on television — a first for Reality TV. The chat also featured influential writers and bloggers fielding questions from fans. Sandra Gonzalez (staff writer for Entertainment Weekly); Katrina Mitzeliotis (fashion director for Hollywood Life); Jonesy Jones (entertainment correspondent for Bossip); and Hillary Reinsberg (associate editor for BuzzFeed Shift), are among the writers/bloggers that appeared in the chat. As the series progressed, fans could “hang out" with their favorite budding models on the series. In addition to talking about the show, modeling, fashion and more – and true to the concept of the synergy between first screen and second screen – Oxygen streamed an exclusive sneak peek of the show during the chat. The Face will return for Season 2 in March.
