The objective of the series “Good People” is to meet the inspiring changemakers who have dedicated their lives to creating a positive impact in their communities. In this episode, we profiled Gary Mills and his organization “Shoot Basketballs, Not People,” which aims to decrease gun violence through basketballs. With his organisation, Mills has created a sanctuary that draws the inner city youth of Philadelphia off the streets and onto the court.
We spent a day with Mills and all of the young athletes he trains, and who are a part of the organisation. In addition to our main interview with Mills, we also spoke with his students and their parents.
