Turtle Conservation in Costa Rica

Finalist in Animal & Wildlife

Objectives

The video was creared to highlight the work done by The Footprints Network in funding community based projects that have a positive impact on the world.

We believe that as travelers we have a responsibility to give back.
This is why we founded the Footprints program. When you buy travel insurance with us, you can choose to add a small donation to your policy price to help fund a community development project.

We work with reputable charities and NGOs and absorb the administration costs, so that 100% of your donation goes directly to the project of your choice.

All projects we fund align with the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals, which strive to help end poverty, protect the planet and shift the world onto a sustainable and resilient path.

Through the project highlighted in this video, the Sea Turtle Conservancy will train aspiring conservation biologists from developing nations in the proper techniques for monitoring and protecting nesting sites in order to build capacity for sea turtle conservation in Latin America.

It also aims to promote sea turtle eco-tourism as a way to build sustainable conservation programs that provide revenue for local communities.
