Girlboss launched earlier this year with a bold mission – to reach women who are redefining success on their own terms. Founded by serial entrepreneur Sophia Amoruso, Girlboss was born from the New York Times bestselling book #GIRLBOSS that inspired a generation of women to take action in their own lives. Through content, community and shared experiences, Girlboss is creating a shame-free zone for girls and women to chase their dreams both big and small.
Girlboss encompasses a range of online and offline platforms for engagement including: an editorial website – Girlboss.com – with original written and video content; social media and digital community platforms under the @Girlboss handle; a dedicated email product; conferences; The Girlboss Foundation; Girlboss books, including The Girlboss Workbook: An Interactive Journal for Winning at Life (October 24); and a podcast – Girlboss Radio – hosted by Amoruso.
In just a few months since its launch, Girlboss.com has grown into a dynamic platform featuring smart, inclusive, accessible and actionable daily content and a corresponding newsletter on topics ranging from work and money to beauty, wellness, and more. With an editorial team of five, Girlboss.com helps women explore what an ambitious life means both personally and professionally.
Girlboss Radio, the popular podcast started by Sophia Amoruso in September 2015, relaunched under the Girlboss Media brand in August 2017. Since the launch, Sophia has interviewed world-class women making their mark in creative, cultural and business ventures, including Roxane Gay, Gwyneth Paltrow, Kelly Mullens Brown (President of Ryan Seacrest Enterprises) and Kate Ryder (Founder and CEO of Maven). Episodes are released weekly with the goal of providing dynamic conversations that extract solid advice from notable women across industries.
Offline and shared experiences are an integral part of the Girlboss ecosystem. On March 4, 2017, Girlboss hosted the inaugural Girlboss Rally in Los Angeles to bring together curious creatives, entrepreneurs, thought leaders and tastemakers to spark conversations about wins, losses, life hacks, passion and more. The one-day event gave attendees the opportunity to join panels, workshops, mentor sessions and speed-networking dates and enjoy delicious food, pop-up shops, photo booths and more. The next Girlboss Rally will take place in Q4 2017.
Since launching earlier this year, Girlboss has been successful in reaching a wide range of girls and women through content, community and shared experiences. Key metrics include:
