Objectives

Hulu Originals "History of the World, Part II" is an outrageous sketch comedy series that recreates different historical events as interpreted by the masterful satirical mind of Mel Brooks. The series itself is a sequel to Brooks' 1981 film “History of the World: Part I.” Hulu's series sees sketches that recreate moments from the American Civil War, The Russian Revolution, World War II, Mesoamerica, and more.

To promote the release of the new comedy series Hulu Originals launched a fully interactive game dubbed 'The History of the World Part II, The Experience.' – available on mobile, desktop, and XBOX. The game was designed to pull in fans of the classic movie and generate excitement and buzz for the upcoming series.

Strategy and Execution

The experience is narrated by Mel Brooks and features historical quips from series stars Ike Barinholtz and Wanda Sykes as they take participants on a journey through time from “the big burp” that created all of life in the universe through the caveman era and up to the modern day. Viewers interact with animated vignettes through the clever use of mouse clicks and gestures to progress the narrative and engage in satirical browser games. Fans even have the opportunity to win prizes.

The game offered fans and history buffs a unique comedy experience that perfectly complements the satire made famous by the comedic mind of Mel Brooks. The unique, humorous art fits perfectly with the bawdy and irreverent humor that Brooks is known
