Christmas at Kathy’s was the penultimate event for DIRECTV’s “Reality Check” takeover to reinforce the company’s position as a premium provider of unscripted entertainment. Featuring captivating content from the event for social programming, the holiday party aimed to produce authentic and relatable moments for Bravoholics and wider fans of unscripted entertainment. Each moment was crafted to position DIRECTV as the leader in reality and reinforce messaging around: “all your shows, all in one place.”
The strategy went beyond hosting a memorable event; it aimed for beats to renew the brand’s premium position in reality TV, setting the stage for future engagements and brand affinity in the reality space. The partnership with well known hostess with the mostest and former Real Housewife, Kathy Hilton, gave DIRECTV’s audience an exclusive “behind the curtain” look into her home as she gave our small crew of 11 people a private tour of her home and shared her decorating tips. Our team produced real-time quick turn content as well as videos released the days immediately following the event airing on brand handles across all social media platforms.
The content from Christmas at Kathy’s had the third highest engagement rate of any campaign for the entire year as well as provided approx. 4.5 million clicks to dotcom, the most of any entertainment-focused campaign of 2023.
