But instead of gold coins, it’s a vast library of articles filled with every aspect of personal growth—from mind, body, soul, relationships, career growth, and even parenting, to name a few.
Our goal is simple: Mindvalley’s mission is to change the lives of one billion people by creating personal transformation that raises human consciousness around the globe. One way we’re doing so is by using the power of words.
In order to achieve this, Mindvalley’s SEO team challenged themselves to elevate the Blog by doing the following:
Providing value: our articles continually include science-backed information, insights and tips from thought leaders and experts, and stories from Mindvalley Members.
Delivering results: increasing blog traffic and boosting organic search traffic, adding featured snippets and leads, as well as getting social media mentions and reshares.
Becoming an industry thought leader: our articles have a unique competitive edge due to the insights drawn directly from the bestselling Mindvalley courses. We celebrate that uniqueness and extract the nuggets of wisdom to answer our audience’s burning questions.
In December 2021, Mindvalley Blog was facing a number of issues, from declining organic traffic to disorganized content. We realized that without a massive cleanup and a radical change in strategy, we might not be able to revive it.
Beginning in Q1 2022, we performed a thorough SEO audit on the page. This allowed us to identify key risks and the biggest opportunities.
We've then rallied up the entire SEO team, including content writers and SEO specialists, to work on a crystal-clear roadmap of improvements and innovations.
In December 2022, Mindvalley Blog celebrated its biggest year-on-year growth yet. The key to success was keeping our eyes on the prize, following the best industry standards, and innovating boldly.
Our strategy was based on three pillars:
Adhere to Google guidelines about what great content looks like.
Plug in lead hooks that nurture our audience.
Collaborate with other marketing teams to create a holistic communication stream.
Here's looking at the three points in more detail:
1. Adhering to Google guidelines
In Q1, the SEO team realized that the most efficient way to grow is through non-brand keywords.
The SEO team identified a bank of relevant keywords that can give the fastest growth.
The SEO team run a comprehensive SEO audit and came up with a roadmap of fixes and innovations, spanning from UX enhancements to deleting unhelpful content.
The content team re-structured the entire writing process to make it leaner and more efficient.
The content team started producing high-quality, science- and expert-backed articles that answered the most common questions on Google.
The content team refreshed content with a unique Mindvalley "flavor," incorporating wisdom directly from Mindvalley program authors, making the articles one-of-a-kind and not replicable by any other brand.
2. Lead hooks that nurture the audience
In March 2022, the SEO team placed an email signup form on the Blog which boosted email subscribers.
The SEO team kept optimizing conversion rates by shifting from direct sales to a "pull marketing" technique: inviting users to take the next step by signing up for a newsletter or watching a free lesson of a course.
In Q3, the SEO team focused entirely on driving registered users to the Mindvalley platform. This approach was not only aligned with the business objectives but also allowed us to connect better with the Blog audience.
In Q4, the SEO team experimented with more lead hooks such as slide-in banners and exit popups which boosted leads even more.
3. Collaborating with other marketing teams
Throughout the whole year, the content team upcycled content from podcast.mindvalley.com in a way that is Google Search-friendly and honors Mindvalley podcast guests.
In Q3, the content team did interviews with Mindvalley authors to bring even more fresh, juicy, and straight-from-the-source wisdom from world-class experts in personal growth.
In Q3, the content team started an initiative in collaboration with the social media team. We upcycled selected articles to a format of Instagram stories and Instagram post carousels, in order to serve bite-sized information to a wider audience.
The Mindvalley Blog achieved impressive growth in 2022. From organic traffic to lead generation and even Google's Core Web Vitals scores, the team runs a well-oiled blog machine powered by winning strategies and a laser-like focus.
The Mindvalley Blog noted a spectacular +65% YoY growth in impressions on Google.
The Mindvalley Blog grew +23% YoY in organic traffic.
In November 2022 The Mindvalley Blog observed the highest number of clicks from Google in 1.5 years.
The Mindvalley Blog has the 3rd best free-to-paid conversion rate among all the other marketing channels.
There was a +16% average monthly growth in leads coming from the Blog.
One of the most notable wins was to see the flagship article, "What Is Personal Growth and Why Is It So Important?", rank at position 4 in the United States on the keyword "personal growth" (after jumping 19 positions in 2022).
The Spanish version of the Mindvalley Blog has also observed impressive results: +87% Q3 to Q2 organic traffic growth.
Thanks to well-optimized content, the Mindvalley Blog generated 180+ featured snippets on Google.
Apart from the content-driven performance, there was also an unmissable success in the Google Page Experience Score and Core Web Vitals Metrics. In 2022, we've noted an all-time high mobile Google Page Experience Score and Core Web Vitals metrics as well as zero "Poor" mobile URLs for Core Web Vitals.
Finally, the content team increased its productivity by +131% in August, all while keeping the always-high quality.
