Inspired by the Apple TV+ scripted series of the same name, “Little America: The Official Podcast” seeks to tell real-life stories of the immigrant experience in America. These stories show all sides of what it means to be an immigrant in America, they are funny, romantic, heartfelt, quirky and sometimes difficult. Each episode shines a spotlight on an individual telling their personal life story to a different journalist. The podcast is not a companion podcast of the series but rather builds upon it, showing a full picture of the immigrant experience in America.
Throughout each of the nine episodes the podcast features an individual immigrant telling their real-life story to a different journalist from their perspective. The features journalists include Shereen Marisol Meraji, Avery Trufelman, Davy Rothbart, Hannah Kingsley-Ma, Albert Samaha and more, with subjects including a Vietnamese mentalist, a Yugoslavian wedding officiant, a Japanese food engineer, an Ethiopian dog trainer and State Representative Angelica Rubio, the daughter of Mexican immigrants, among others.
