Objectives

Engage fans and eventize the 10th season of the iconic series - Love & Hip Hop: New York with the creation of a custom branded emoji on Twitter that would be attached to any tweets using hashtags commonly used across the franchise’s cities.

 

 

Strategy and Execution

The hashtag was promoted and used by the VH1 & Love & Hip Hop Twitter accounts while additional use was encouraged by network talent and fans in support of the 10th season of Love & Hip Hop: New York pre-premiere and during the entirety of the show’s linear run during 2020. The custom emoji was also used across all Love & Hip Hop properties with additional hashtags #LHH, #LHHATL, #LHHH, #LHHMIA & #LHHReunion all generating the same emoji. Twitter was the perfect platform to launch the custom emoji as Love & Hip Hop is always trending on Monday nights when the show is  in-season.

 

 

Results

The hashtag was used over 350K+ times throughout the course of its lifetime. Fans were excited to see the custom emoji across the cities hashtags to help celebrate the milestone of reaching a 10th season.
