Objectives

Beauty Studio, the unconventional beauty channel's objective is to bring beauty to everyone through original short form video content. For 2018, our goal was to create original programming inspired by our community to increase engagement and video views.

Strategy and Execution

The strategy of Beauty Studio is to merge creativity and community insights with our in house trend detection and content optimization technology to create shows based on emerging beauty trends targeted towards specific interests and communities.

Through this approach we've created a portfolio of hit original shows: a tips and tricks show, 'Beauty Hacks' (8.4m followers), transformative makeovers on 'Beauty Wow' (5.9m followers), beauty for men with 'Boys Do It Too' (260k followers in three months), and beauty for the black community with 'Crowned Ladies' (225k followers in three months).

Results

Beauty Studio is the number one global creator on Facebook in the Beauty Category and the number 2 overall creator in the US on Facebook based on video views (source: Tubular Labs).

Beauty Studio's Facebook community has grown to 12 million followers in 2018 and through our original programming Beauty Studio videos are viewed 1.6 billion times per month on Facebook (source: Facebook Analytics). On average, Beauty Studio reaches 31% of females in the US between ages 25-34 and 18% of females in the US between ages 18-24 (source: Nielsen DCR).

These results exceeded our goals of increased video views, with a 2018 increase of 302% for video views and 3,460% for engagement.
