• The G Adventures brand is all over Twitter, all over the world, 24/7. • We have updates at least once every 60-120 minutes, seven days a week. Yes we tweet on weekends! • We give away prizes such as G-swag, travel vouchers and other goodies. • The @gAdventures account interacts with the online travel community via Twitter chats like #TravelTuesday, #TNI #TTOT, and #FriFotos. We’ve even hosted a few of the aforementioned chats. • The @gAdventures account tweets during events, conferences and travel shows, especially those that feature a brand representative. Our founder, @BrucePoonTip, maintains a strong Twitter presence and following. • Our Twitter following has grown 225% from under 10k to nearly 40k in 12 months. • We emply Twitter as a customer-service tool. Travellers can ask us questions, get news updates on real-time events like flooding in Thailand and political unrest in Egypt. This year, we were able to reach out to our travellers personally and let them know what to expect. It has been a great tool for us to make the G Adventures experience even more personal. • Twitter doesn’t just end with @gAdventures. Our entire staff uses Twitter daily to interact with each other. As a global company, Twitter helps us stay connected to each other better than email or instant messaging. All new G Adventures hires are requested to sign up for Twitter and get a few tweets out each day. • Our #gadv hashtag is used often by our staff and the Twitter travel community. We make sure to retweet all travel-related tweets that use the #gadv tag. • Twitter is an essential fundraising tool for our non-profit organization, Planeterra. In 2010, we raised over $50k in less than 48 hours to build water stations for African refugees, largely through Twitter.
