Joanne Tombrakos has been calling herself a storyteller since before it was the trendy thing to do. She has delivered thousands of pitches in every industry sector over the course of a successful twenty-five-year career that has included working at CBS and Time Warner Cable as a media sales and marketing executive. She prides herself that she never sold anybody anything, but she did learn to tell a very convincing story that closed a lot of business. She uses those same skills today as a Marketing and Business Strategist, Assistant Professor of Marketing at NYU’s School of Professional Studies, the host of the podcast, Marketing, Mindfulness and Martinis and as the author of four books including a novel, The Secrets They Kept, It Takes An Egg Timer: A Guide To Creating The Time For Your Life, Getting Your Personal Brand Story Straight - a workbook, and her most recent, Crafting Your Pitch, A Storytelling Framework. Considered a subject matter expert in personal branding, pitch-perfecting, and social media, she believes at the end of the day it’s about humans connecting with humans. While she currently resides on the other side of the Hudson, she is and always will consider herself a New Yorker. You can follow her on most social networks @joannetombrakos and/or subscribe to her new Substack, Does This Make Sense?
