Objective

As an early TikTok innovator, we've constantly pushed ourselves to innovate on the platform and reach new heights in terms of growth and viewership. 2023 dealt us an additional obstacle when our viral red carpet interviews were paused due to the Actors Strike, so we had to figure out how to continue making celeb content while also strengthening and optimizing our other content types. 

Strategy

First off we had to find celebrities interviews in unlikely places. A great example was joining Keanu Reeves at a comic book sigining and capturing the fan interaction seen all around the world, a TikTok now with 26M views. Another example is when we interviewed Goose the Cat of The Marvels while his human actors were unavailable, which now has over 9M TikTok views. Pre-strike we were able to blow up the internet yet again by interviewing Cillian Murphy for Oppenheimer and confirming that yes, he was just as excited to see Barbie as the rest of us (another 20 million+ view TikTok). 

Finally our gaming content was huge, including interviews with devs behind the year's most anticipated games, controller demonstrations, and for the first time ever, our famous IGN guides content made its way onto TikTok in the form of helping players get the most they could out of Marvel's Spider-Man 2. 

Results

In 2023 alone we had a record 780 million TikTok views, with and additional 74 million total engagements, also a record. Our growth spiked over 4M followers, and we continue to be the biggest gaming and entertaiment news channel on the platform.
