Sport Chek isn’t just a retailer, it’s the locker room of the nation. The goal of Elbows Up was clear: transform a fleeting cultural moment into a rallying cry for resilience, connect with Canadians of all generations, and prove that Sport Chek could move at the speed of culture to defend the national vibe.
We aimed to amplify a playful, coded signal from Mike Myers on SNL, the “Elbows Up” Gordie Howe reference, into a shared moment of national pride. The campaign needed to be immediate, organic, and culturally fluent, sparking conversation across social platforms while reinforcing Sport Chek’s position as a true teammate to Canadians.

Our team mobilized Sport Chek staff on the floor, fully suited in elbow pads, a visual metaphor for protection and readiness that required no dialogue.
