Objective

The objective of this campaign was to evolve the brand’s storytelling from product-led messaging to a more human, emotionally resonant platform and to position the brand as an enabler of self-directed progress and a platform that supports people who expect more from themselves and from the tools they use.

We sought to align the brand with a mindset rather than a product and the insight was simple but powerful: the drive that fuels success in life mirrors the drive that fuels success in finance. The campaign aimed to broaden the definition of ambition beyond traditional financial milestones, reflecting the reality that success is personal and self-defined. By doing so, we sought to increase brand affinity among a driven, high-expectation audience that sees financial progress as just one dimension of a larger life pursuit.

A key objective was to authentically represent the mindset of our customers—individuals who are disciplined, focused, and determined in pursuit of their goals. We showcased ambition across industries, identities, and personal journeys. By partnering with relevant yet unexpected figures whose success stems from dedication and self-belief, we aimed to create inspiration without prescribing a singular path to achievement.

Strategy

Our strategy was rooted in a defining insight: our customers possess laser-focused drive and determination. They are intentional about their goals, disciplined in their pursuits, and relentless in their desire to improve. Ambition is a daily practice that is personally defined by each and every one of us. 

To authentically connect with our audience, the brand needed to reflect that same intensity. The campaign became an expression of a shared mindset: the focus our customers apply to their ambitions mirrored in the precision and purpose with which we build our tools. Rather than presenting ambition as a financial outcome, we framed it as a personal standard that lives across every dimension of life.

Creatively, we built the platform around the parallel between “drive” in life and “drive” in finance. The same discipline required to master a craft, compete at the highest level, or build something from the ground up is the discipline required to take control of your financial future.

Execution unfolded through a series of distinct stories, each showcasing ambition expressed in a uniquely personal way:

Spanning sports and culture, these voices reinforce a central truth: there is no single expression of ambition, but there is a common drive behind it.

Visually and tonally, the work leans into authenticity and emotional clarity. A documentary style lets each narrative naturally unfurl into the individual’s mindset, standards and self-belief.  Robinhood is positioned as an enabler rather than the hero of the campaign and marks a deliberate evolution into a more intimate, more human, and more reflective style of storytelling aimed to inspire the community we serve.

By aligning our brand voice with the mindset of its audience, the campaign demonstrates not just understanding, but shared determination, reinforcing the brand as a partner built with the same focus as the people who use it.

Results

“Ambition" elevated Robinhood’s cultural presence through an insight-led, social-first strategy. The result: our highest-performing brand-led social campaign to date, driving 4M+ impressions and a 2.74% engagement rate (+15% above benchmark). Jonquel Jones’ content alone delivered 5,000 new followers, proving the power of talent-led storytelling to accelerate audience growth.
