At Random Acts, it’s our mission to conquer the world one random act of kindness at a time. We are here to inspire acts of kindness around the world both big and small. We provide a vast network of caring people with the encouragement and support they need to change lives for the better.
What are some words or phrases you refuse to shorten for brevity?
We nvr shrtn r wrds. Evr.
What is the weirdest or most inappropriate place you've ever made a social media post from?
The moon! Oh no wait, that was a collective dream we all had. Hmm. It’s neither weird, nor inappropriate (so, really, it’s not answering this question), but we’ve tweeted from Jacmel, Haiti, while our volunteers were helping to construct the Jacmel Children’s Center. That was a pretty amazing location.
Who is the funniest person on Twitter that you follow?
I suppose we should probably say our co-founder, @mishacollins, right? We mean, uh, yeah, he’s definitely the funniest. Also the prettiest. Please don’t fire us, Misha.
How do you or your organization use social media? What makes your use unique?
Random Acts was born on social media. It's our medium of choice for communicating with our supporters and co-conspirators in kindness. We work with a world-wide network of caring, motivated and slightly weird people, and social media allows us to connect, engage and conspire to achieve our goal of conquering the world with kindness. We have successfully crowd-funded projects ranging from purchasing a school bus in Nicaragua through to building an entire children's center in Haiti. In addition, social media allows us to harness our supporters' creativity to undertake daily acts of kindness that make a difference in scores of lives all around the world.
