Hashtag you created that you wish everyone used?
I haven't created one, but I think #ShortyAwards2014 should be used by everyone!
What is one of the biggest misconceptions of Twitter?
"It's too personal." It's only going to be as personal as you choose it to be!
140 characters of advice for a new user?
Get used to the 140 character limit. It will not only drive you crazy, but you'll also be forced to resort to abbreviating words. It's awful.
What inspires you to tweet?
My wonderful, outstanding readers. I like to keep them up-to-date with my work while driving them insane at the same time!
How do you or your organization use social media? What makes your use unique?
Estelle uses social media - Twitter, in particular - as a platform to promote her work. She used Twitter initially to spread the word about her writing and is therefore the foundation on which her large following has been built upon. Social media is extremely important to Estelle as it is the key agent she uses to promote her work and gain readers. Twitter allows for her to hear feedback from her readers, gather constructive criticism and advance on it, tweet updates whenever there is something important they should know about such as the release of new chapters, and most importantly, Estelle uses social media to share the love of reading with people from every corner of the globe. Helping others is something Estelle loves to do, and social media gives her the opportunity to inspire and motivate these people to work hard to achieve their dreams no matter how unreachable they seem.
