I look for campus news and interesting photos that appeal to our varied audience of current students, alumni, employees & fans.
What are some big Twitter faux pas?
Automatically sending Facebook posts to Twitter where the character limit mangles your message.
Hashtag you created that you wish everyone used?
Didn’t create it, but #MountaineerNation is pretty sweet.

Learn More about WVU Mountaineers
Mountaineers like to keep in touch, so our philosophy in University Relations has been to use the social media platforms our students, alumni, and fans are using. With the exception of our Facebook page, which is a joint project between UR-Web and Athletics, WVU’s official accounts are maintained by UR staffers.
How do you or your organization use social media? What makes your use unique?
WVU uses social media to interact with our many fans and friends each day. For example, during Commencement, the hashtag #wvugrad is used on Instagram and Twitter by graduating students and alumni who are remembering the great times they had at WVU. The University even offered "Simple Social Gifts" to its followers around the holidays including smartphone backgrounds, a ringtone and even a version of the famous "Flying WV" cookie recipe. WVU's President E. Gordon Gee is also one of the first university presidents on Instagram. You can follow him and check out his bowtie selfies at http://instagram.com/egordongee.
