Lauren, more commonly known as "L.E.", is a 19 year old from Celebration, FL. She’s a freshman Film & TV major at Boston University's College of Communication. Her passions are embodied by the quote- “there are only 2 things I love in this world: everybody and television." As an aspiring comedy writer, LE wants to use her platform to shed light on social issues that she is passionate about. On her blog, she praised comedian Amy Poehler for her organization that empowers young girls. As LE idolizes Amy’s career, she knows the importance of making her own mark. She stated in her essay “I don’t want to be the next Amy Poehler- I just want to be LE. My only wish that aligns with Amy’s life story is that I want my existence to be meaningful and uplifting to other young girls like myself." By winning a Shorty Award, LE wants to create a prominent platform to encourage people to be passionate and motivated. She hopes that the Academy sympathizes with her goals and helps promote her voice.
