Katie Meyler is a speaker, spoken word poet, and founder/CEO of More Than Me. TIME recognized Katie as an Ebola Fighter and 2014 Person of the Year for leading More Than Me in the fight against Ebola. Under Katie’s leadership, More Than Me worked to meet community needs quickly by serving children made vulnerable by the epidemic and empowering local leaders and their communities to identify, transfer, and reintegrate patients and survivors. Katie’s passion and talent led More Than Me to win $1MM from CHASE bank recognizing Katie as a leading educator. In September 2013, Katie and President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf cut the ribbon to the More Than Me Academy – the first tuition-free, all-girls academy in Liberia. She has also gained the recognition of Bono’s ONE Campaign, Forbes, TEDx, the United Nations, TIME, NBC, CBS, Vogue, HSN, Microsoft, and Exxon, among others.
