Street Cuts is a 4-part Fusion original web series and TV Special that follows celebrity stylist Mark Bustos as he hits the streets of South Beach to meet and give a free haircut to the homeless.
The goal of the series was simple: to give the audience the opportunity to listen to the stories of the homeless in the hopes to inspire viewers to #BeAwesomeToSomebody (a hashtag started by Mark himself).
In order to give the audience the broadest ability to watch this content, we had a multi-platform approach. Street Cuts was not only released on FUSION's YouTube channel, website (FUSION.net), and OTT platforms, but it also had the opportunity to be packaged into a 22 minute special for FUSION TV having the potential to reach +40M households. Additionally, it was repackaged for Facebook into a short, 2 minute version.
Lastly, our community outreach involved contacting organizations and influencers to assist in amplifying each video's reach so as to share these uplifting stories and inspire people outside of Fusion's immediate audience base.
Street Cuts has met our team's objective and goals. The multi-distribution strategy was successfully accomplished, reaching millions of viewers.
Additionally, we were thrilled to see overwhelming positive support for the series and inspiration from our viewers, which was reflected in the amount of comments and engagement on our digital/social platforms.
