At My Drama — the leading vertical streaming platform among American and European companies — our goal with Bound By Blood was to prove that vertical series can achieve the same cinematic depth, atmosphere, and craftsmanship as full-size films. This project was designed to move beyond the limitations traditionally associated with mobile-native storytelling and demonstrate that vertical format can support richly built worlds, detailed production design, and emotionally layered performances.
Bound By Blood allowed us to explore romantic fantasy drama through a distinctly cinematic lens. The focus was on elevating the genre with expressive lighting, meticulous attention to visual detail, and shot composition that mirrors the emotional intensity of feature filmmaking. Every frame was crafted to feel intentional: textured light shaping the supernatural mood, close-up character work highlighting internal conflict, and color palettes engineered to deepen immersion on small screens.
We also set out to expand the range of genres thriving in vertical entertainment by introducing a visually demanding supernatural romance. This gave us the opportunity to reach audiences who expect atmospheric storytelling, heightened emotion, and high production quality.

The production of Bound By Blood was built within HOLYWATER’s technology-driven content ecosystem — a pipeline that allows us to test story concepts, refine them through real audience data, and move only the strongest ideas into live-action vertical production. Working across My Passion (our book discovery platform) and My Muse (our AI-supported pre-visualization environment), we were able to validate creative direction long before filming began.
The project originated on My Passion, where the novel showed strong traction around fated-mates romance, and high emotional stakes. Early audience engagement indicated a clear interest for deeper, more atmospheric romantic fantasy drama within vertical storytelling.
After validation, the project entered full production for My Drama. Our creative goal was to bring fantasy world-building into a mobile-native format without losing cinematic depth. The story revolves around forbidden attraction, destiny, and power dynamics within a supernatural world — themes that translated naturally into high-impact vertical storytelling.
During production, we focused heavily on creating atmosphere through lighting, composition, and color. Our cinematographers experimented with shadow play, and close-quarters depth to give the series a moody, immersive quality.
