In the Hulu Original docu-drama series “Wu-Tang: An American Saga” the rocketing popularity of the Wu-Tang Clan and their influence on the music scene are presented in raw, from-the-heart recreations of the time before they were hip-hip giants.
To promote the RZA-produced show's third and final season, Hulu Originals created a guided tour through the Wu Mansion home, featuring the cast of the series in character as the members of the Wu-Tang Clan.
The goal of the creative is to evoke a sense of nostalgia for similar scenes from episodes of “MTV's Cribs” from the 2000s era, which aired during the height of Wu-Tang Clan's rise to popularity.
We were able to gather the cast for a social shoot while they were filming the final episode to bring our Wu Mansion Tour to life. We challenged the cast to improvise the guided tour while remaining in character and the results were nothing short of acting excellence! The spot featured the cast of Hulu Original “Wu-Tang: An American Saga,” Siddiq Saunderson, Shameik Moore, TJ Atoms, and JaQwan J. Kelly as Ghostface Killah, Raekwon, ODB, and Masta Killa respectively. The cast took turns embodying their characters' personalities and mannerisms that true Wu-Tang fans appreciated.
This intimate and personal expose spotlighted the actor's deep knowledge of their character but also pulled viewers into the world and unique story of one of the world's greatest hip-hop groups.
