Series Rewind provides well-rounded recaps of new and returning shows to introduce new viewers, increase tune-in, showcase the shows’ writing, and give showrunners/creators the chance to speak to their audience directly about character development and other important aspects of the work. 

Strategy and Execution

Our plan of action for each video was to learn as much as we could about the shows by immersing ourselves in the series. Our team spoke with and interviewed creators, talent, artisans and more who worked on each of the productions to color each video with in-depth information about the show, how it came together, and where the story will go from here. The “Killing It” and “Ted Lasso” Series Rewind episodes also included a sneak peek of the upcoming seasons. 

Our team's biggest challenge was figuring out how to edit the clips together so that each Series Rewind episode told a cohesive story about the most important elements in the show such as plot developments, character arcs, and overarching themes without giving away any spoilers. 

Another challenge was the writers and actors strikes affecting production in the middle of this season. This added an additional layer of figuring out workarounds to getting the most captivating, enjoyable content without the inclusion of interviews with creatives and talent. 


Series Rewind has successfully recapped 5 iconic shows and 1 incredible film this seasonin 2023, including "Ted Lasso," "Killing It," "The Boys," "Atlanta," "Reservation Dogs," and even a film, "Reality," providing captivating, cohesive, and informative breakdowns of some of this year's most popular series. Overall, Variety's 2023 Series Rewind has garnered over 26 million impressions.
