iStyle: Black Hair

Entered in Multicultural Community Engagement

Objectives

When Paramount+ launched the new iCarly reboot, fans immediately noticed something special about the show—the intentional celebration of Black hair. We invited iCarly stars Laci Mosely (Harper) and Jaidyn Triplett (Millicent) to sit down with iCarly Hairstylist Tanya Stine to discuss the impact of Black hairstylists on set, and what the thoughtful representation of Black hair means for those both making and watching the show.

Strategy and Execution

We crafted interview questions that would elicit an often unspoken conversation, allowing the women to share their sometimes uncomfortable experiences in an industry that does not always recognize the importance of representation. Through an educational and relatable approach, iStyle Black Hair brings to light the important contributions of professionals of diverse backgrounds, ethnicities, and cultures.
