ShopTYT 9 Days of Impact

Objectives

ShopTYT took a different approach from the usual Black Friday sale and instead focused on highlighting several organizations through nine days of special sales and offers. Each day benefited a specific progressive organization and a portion of sales were donated for the cause. This initiative is connected to TYT’s mission of driving positive change. 

 

Strategy and Execution

ShopTYT reshaped holiday shopping and made giving back the focal point. A portion of each day’s sales was donated to a specific organization including: The Sunrise Movement, The Trevor Project, Planned Parenthood, the Committee to Protect Journalists, and more.

Results

ShopTYT started this new strategy in 2021 and it was recognized with the Audience Honor at the Shorty Awards. This initiative put the focus on giving back rather than promoting consumerism. Through this effort, ShopTYT was able to donate to The Sunrise Movement, NAACP Atlanta Branch, Planned Parenthood, Trevor Project, and the Committee to Protect Journalists.
